Josh Peck is an American actor, comedian, and YouTuber. He started his career by appearing in different TV shows when he was just 5 years old.

Peck rose to fame after he played Josh Nichols in the Nickelodeon sitcom, Drake & Josh. He also started his career as a comedian at the age of 8. 

Even though Peck seemed a very funny and happy boy in the shows and movies he appeared in, things weren’t going that much better for him in real life.

Growing up with a single mom, he had to face a lot of challenges. Although Peck’s mom showed him full support and tried to erase every difference, there was still something lacking.

In his interview with Today, Josh said, “I always watched others and I saw a difference between our little family and others’ traditional families.” As a boy, he often felt the need for his father’s love and support which he was craving.

However, sadly, he couldn’t get that love. To fight the emotions, Peck found refuge in food. He would eat his emotions. This, in turn, had a very negative impact on his health. At a very young age, Josh gained a lot of extra weight which started slowing him down.

Josh’s Decision to Lose Weight

After finding out that his weight was slowing him down and was very bad for his weight, he, with the support of his mom, decided to embark on a weight loss journey.

There was a lot of work ahead. He had to do a lot of hard work because Josh had reached an alarming weight of 300 pounds. Well, the good thing is that he succeeded in the end. How? Let’s find out.

How did Josh Lose 100 Pounds?

For a simple explanation, he did a lot of hard work. I mean a lot of effort. That does not mean that he did impossible. Yes, losing weight is a very hard thing to do. At least harder than gaining weight. But it is not impossible either. Here’s how Peck lost weight.

He consulted a professional trainer, Bob Harper, who helped him in preparing a healthy daily routine following which he could lose weight. With the help of the personal trainer, Bob, Josh prepared diet and workout plans to be followed on a daily basis.

Josh’s Diet Plan

First of all, Peck had to get over the unhealthy eating habits that he had built over the course of time. He became addicted to fast food and soft drinks which are kind of fuel for obesity. At first, giving up fast food seemed very hard. But as he practiced self-control, Josh soon got over this old negative habit.

He slowly and gradually stopped eating junk food and shifted to a healthier diet. Josh started eating vegetables and fruits most of the time. Whereas before he would have a beef burger, now he would have lean meat along with the green vegetable salad. 

Josh also got over the addiction to soft drinks and substituted them with fresh fruits and veggies juice. This healthy diet helped him in losing weight and get lighter by 100 pounds. 

Josh’s Workout Plan

Eating healthy and keeping a good diet is super important, but exercising and burning calories are just as crucial.

Peck began his journey to better health by doing exercises. He’d go for a nice long walk every morning, and he also got into cycling, swimming, and lifting weights. He even tried out yoga to find some inner peace.

This ancient yoga stuff really helped Peck stay calm, even though he was making some big changes to his life. With his healthy diet and his strict workout routine, it was pretty much guaranteed that he’d lose weight.

When Josh lost weight, there was a rumor on the internet about Josh’s undergoing plastic surgery.

However, in reality, he has never discussed it and has never said anything about it. So, we don’t know if he has really undergone any kind of surgery.

Before & After Weight Loss

Before Peck embarked on his weight loss journey, the scale showed a staggering 300 pounds, which was not a healthy situation for him. Carrying that much extra weight can put a lot of strain on the body. However, through determination and perseverance, Peck managed to lose a remarkable 100 pounds.

Now, when he steps on the scale, it reads around 200 pounds. That’s quite a significant achievement, and it shows just how far he has come in his quest for a healthier life. Losing that much weight is not only impressive but also a testament to the power of hard work and dedication.

What did Josh say about his Weight Loss?

While describing his experience and fans’ reaction to his huge transformation, Josh said, “I imagine it must be odd for people who have watched this person that they sort of fell in love with, with this look and this size.”

He continued, “And suddenly there’s this massive shift. So when I did lose weight, there was certainly a small contingent that thought ‘oh, you were funnier when you were fat’ or ‘you took away this guy who we loved and we’re not so sure if we love this guy’.”

Josh also appreciated and thanked his wife by saying, “Basically, my wife helped me in all avenues of my life. She’s great. She censors me in all the right ways. She is pretty outstanding. I’m very happy and incredibly lucky and now we have a kid and now we own a home together.”
