You know how the phrase goes, “New year, new me!” The start of a new year usually inspires new motivation and fitness goals. And as it turns out, Peloton predicts strength training will have a bigger focus in 2025, with more emphasis on goal-oriented training.
The interactive fitness brand just released their fitness and wellness trend predictions, along with a new app, Peloton Strength+, released on December 4, to help you reach those strength-related targets in the new year.
What to know about the Peloton Strength+ app
Peloton has expanded its fitness ecosystem with the Strength+ app, designed to bring gym-based strength training into the digital age. This iOS-exclusive app offers customizable workouts tailored to goals like muscle building, endurance, or general fitness. With features like audio-guided instructions, exercise swaps, and integration with the Apple Watch ($349) for progress tracking, Strength+ helps users navigate gym equipment with confidence.
“People continue to understand that they need to strength train but don’t know where to start,” said Peloton instructor Joslyn Thompson Rule, in a press release. She recently launched a six-week beginner program called Discover Strength on the original Peloton app.
Often beginner programs start at an accessible level, but may not include foundational strength movements, Thompson Rule said in the press release. “With Discover Strength, we’ve stripped everything back to build fundamental movement patterns. For example, building stability and strength in a split squat to support lunges. There’s also push-up foundations and a dedicated mobility program within the program. This is so important as mobility gives you greater access to your range of motion and therefore strength.”
On Peloton Strength+, users can choose between self-paced custom routines or multi-week, coach-led programs, enhancing flexibility and personalization. Subscriptions start at $9.99/month after a six-month $1 introductory offer. The app is free to current Peloton app members.
